From The Coach
Hi to all the members and families of St Dominic’s Tennis Club. My name is Peter Caruana and I have been appointed your new tennis coach.
I have been coaching this great game of ours for the past 22 years. My family and I are all members of the club and we live locally, and with this in mind I am hoping that I will get the chance over the coming months to meet with you all. Having coached players at all levels from total beginners to players competing on the professional circuit, I will be able to pass all this experience and knowledge onto our members.
My playing experience started by playing Juniors in the Eastern suburbs at the top level representing Eastern Region Tennis, also playing in all our National junior tournaments. After reaching a top 5 state junior ranking I moved on to playing senior tournaments and Tennis Victoria Pennant. Now with tennis being a big part of my life, I moved to Brisbane where I trained full time at Ashley Coopers, this then being the only place in Australia that offered a full time training program. This is where I came across some guy called Patrick Rafter, who became one of my daily training partners. The following years saw me travelling overseas in Europe, New Zealand and Australia wide competing on the professional circuit. After a few years of travelling and coming agonisingly close to a world ranking of 1000, I came home and played state grade pennant for the next 14 years. I achieved a State ranking of number 4 behind Mark Philippoussis, Andrew Florent & Dane Nebel.
Having coached full time for the past 18 years in the Eastern suburbs, I will be bringing my coaching Team with me to St Dominic’s Tennis Club. They include: Kyle Bramich, Aaron Pisani, George Luther, Ben Jackson, Sam Elbaz and Vuk Paropovich. All these coaches have been with me for a number of years, which is why I have carefully chosen them to work with me at our great club.
Having met a number of you at our Christmas carols break up, I look forward to meeting you all shortly.

· Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Junior Classes from 8.00 am
· Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Adult classes from 9.00 am
· Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Junior Classes from 3.30 pm
· Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Adult Classes from 6.00pm
· Thursday, Friday Adult classes from 6.30pm
· Private/ semi private lessons by appointment.
